Argenta Strengthens Molecule to Market Offering With Acquisition of Midwest Veterinary Services, Inc.

Argenta, the only combined global contract research organisation (CRO) and contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) dedicated to animal health and nutrition, today announces that it has agreed to acquire the CRO services of Midwest Veterinary Services, Inc., a pioneer in the veterinary clinical space.

Founded in Oakland, Nebraska, US, in 1987, the company provides expertise from molecule discovery to post-approval marketing services, working with some of the biggest names in animal health.

Bringing Argenta and MVS together will allow both organisations to provide customers with an even broader range of services across clinical research, product development, and manufacturing.

Will Downie, Chief Executive Officer of Argenta, said: “We are delighted that MVS is joining the Argenta group. It has a rich heritage, reputation for excellence, and proven expertise built up over more than 35 years.

“As the dynamic animal health market continues to change and customer expectations grow, working together will help ensure we are best placed to meet clients’ needs now and in the future.”

For MVS, being part of a larger organisation will also provide long-term continuity for its customers and employees.

Founder and President Dr Kelly Lechtenberg said: “I became attracted to Argenta because of our shared commitment to animal health and how well our organisations complement each other.

“Bringing together our two businesses will allow us to improve the sustainability of livestock production, add to the value we provide our industry partners, and enhance the lives of the animals that are dependent upon our work.”

MVS will be a standalone business unit within Argenta, with its own management team. Dr Lechtenberg will continue in his role as President, MVS. Vice Presidents Brooke Cull and Charley Cull will also continue in their respective roles of VP – Business Operations and VP – Research & Development at MVS.
