Argenta Wins IHS Markit Animal Health Award

Argenta Wins IHS Markit Animal Health Award

Second award in three years

Best services company - Argenta

Today, IHS Markit announced Argenta as the recipient of the 2020Animal Health Award for Best Services Company. Every year, IHS Markit (previously known as ‘Animal Pharm’), invites animal health companies to submit their application, outlining their achievements of the past year.

After receiving the award in 2018, Argenta was again selected as winner by the judges as a result of its considerable number of R&D projects, the expansion of services with Regulatory Affairs and Data Management, and solid GMP manufacturing activities. In addition to these core capabilities, Argenta attracted a significant investment from global investment firm KKR. Not only does this confirm the strategic value of Argenta, but it also puts the spotlight on the veterinary industry as whole among the private equity community.

In 2020, Argenta delivered over 1,000 batches of GMP animal health products from its three manufacturing sites in New Zealand, the UK and the US, with a global on-time delivery performance greater than 90%. The team worked on 85 R&D projects ― providing expertise in clinical research, licensing, regulatory affairs, data management, proof-of-concept and stability studies, and pharmaceutical sciences. As part of these projects, Argenta signed five license agreements for its own drug delivery technologies.

“The IHS Markit Awards remind us how fortunate we are to work in an industry as dynamic and resilient as animal health. To win this highly contested award in a challenging year is a great achievement and a testament to our talented, driven, and courageous global team. 2020 represented a year of enormous change for the animal health industry, including Argenta. Despite the crisis, our revenue grew and our company remained profitable, resilient and ambitious. Receiving this honor motivates us even more to keep striving for an excellent customer experience in every part of our business, from Molecule to Market,” said Ben Russell, CEO of Argenta. “We are working on continued growth and expansion in 2021 but always keep our customer service focus as a top priority."

Thanks to IHS Markit for making this award possible and congratulations to the other winners.
