LONDON, 16 January 2023 – Argenta, the only combined global contract research organisation (CRO) and contract development & manufacturing organisation (CDMO) specialised in animal health, announced today the appointment of Donald Smith as General Counsel, effective immediately.
Donald will be responsible for all legal matters at Argenta, including M&A and corporate governance matters. He will join Argenta’s Executive Leadership Team and reports to Will Downie, CEOat Argenta.
Will Downie said: “Donald has an impressive track record of success with 20 years of experience in major international law firms (including as a Partner) and in a senior in-house role. He has broad expertise in company and commercial law matters for domestic and international corporations, and will bring a skilled and steady hand to the role of general counsel. He is a collaborative and pragmatic leader and possesses the expertise that Argenta needs in this phase of growth.”
Prior to joining Argenta, Donald was a Partner in the Corporate team at Dentons. He got introduced to Argenta years ago when he advised the company on the acquisition of Elanco's Dundee Animal Health business from Eli Lilly &Co.
